Samsel Architects (www.samselarchitects.com) has more than two decades of experience in the Asheville and Southern Appalachian Region interpreting the still-evolving architectural traditions of the area. Those traditions have always been inspired by the dramatic natural setting of the North Carolina mountains. Never more than now, with green building techniques and materials holding sway with both builders and buyers.

Given their experience with regional vernacular, green building approaches, and collaborative design, Jim Samsel and his firm were natural choices for the HandMade House at The Ramble.

"We have done our best work when we work in a collaborative team environment," says Jim. "I think there's a mutual challenging effect that results in a more powerful end product."
